Health Visitor Jo Chwalko awarded with the Queen's Nurse title

Jo Chwalko Health Visitor
Jo Chwalko, from Wirral Community NHS Trust has been given the  prestigious title of Queen's Nurse (QN) by community nursing charity The  Queen's Nursing Institute (QNI).

The title is not an award for past service, but indicates a commitment to  high standards of patient care, learning and leadership.

Jo Chwalko said: "I feel very honoured to receive the Queens Nurse title. I  am passionate about delivering a Health Visiting service that meets the  needs of our community and feel proud that my achievements have been  deemed worthy of such recognition.

"The changes made to improve the Health Visiting service reflect a team effort. I consider myself very fortunate to work with such proactive colleagues and for a Trust which encourages creativity and innovation."

Nurses who hold the title benefit from developmental workshops, bursaries, networking opportunities, and a shared professional identity.

Crystal Oldman, Chief Executive of the QNI said: "Congratulations are due to Jo Chwalko for her success. Community nurses operate in an ever more challenging world and our role is to support them as effectively as we can. The QN title is a key part of this and we would encourage other community nurses to apply."

Joanne Chwalko will receive her prestigious title at a ceremony in the evening on Monday 12 May.
