Staff Awards - a night to remember!

Staff Awards - A night to remember!

Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust staff and volunteers gathered at the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton for the 2017 'For You Thank You' staff awards. The event celebrated the fantastic work of individuals and teams across the trust and saw our winners presented with their 'For You Thank You' awards.

BBC legend Gordon Burns was very kindly our host for the night, saying afterwards that he was amazed at just how many different services we deliver in Wirral and Cheshire East, and what wonderful treatment and care we provide.

The evening opened with the Patient at the heart award, which was won by the Wheelchair Service for their excellent patient feedback, followed by Paxton Community Nursing Team who walked away with the Exceptional care award.

Physiotherapist, Kathryn Landrum who had inspired her colleagues with her leadership skills won the award for Actively supporting others, and Emma Mottram from the Speech and Language Therapy team won the Innovation category with her ‘Skype’ consultation project that had received great feedback from clients.

There was enormous support for Mick Wynne from the Estates team who was a popular choice in the Trusted to deliver category, and Johanna Hay added a second award for the Speech and Language Therapy team winning Volunteer of the year.

Team winners included, Wirral Heart Support Admin Team for Non-clinical team of the year, and The Cherubs Infant Feeding Team in Cheshire East who were thrilled to win the much sought after Clinical team of the year presented by Dame Lorna Muirhead, Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside. The Chief Executive's Award went to the Phlebotomy Service.

The final award of the evening, the Patient Choice Award presented by The Mayor of Wirral, Councillor Pat Hackett was won by the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team. The category invites nominations from patients, their families and carers for those individuals or teams who they felt had given them outstanding care and a fantastic patient experience.

It was a magnificent evening celebrating the amazing work that goes on in Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust, and thanking those who achieved Long Service Awards for 25 years dedication to the NHS.

The event would not be possible without the kind generosity of our sponsors including, Elerbanks Construction, Cosmo Graphis, Hill Dickinson, Assista, Cerner and LT Print. Thank you to everyone who made it such a memorable night.
