Stay Nifty After Fifty

Stay nifty after fifty!

Wirral Community NHS Trust is joining dozens of other local organisations for a special event aimed at the over 50s being held next week.

‘Stay nifty after fifty’ is being organised by Wirral’s Older People’s Parliament in partnership with Age UK and Wirral Council, to showcase the opportunities available in the borough.

The free information and activity market will feature a host of stalls related to issues such as staying fit and active, learning new skills, local transport and affordable heating. Beauty and therapy taster sessions, musical performances, tai chi workshops and volunteering opportunities are just some of the things that will be on offer.

Simon Gilby, the new Chief Executive of Wirral Community NHS Trust will be speaking about local community based healthcare on the first day. Many of the local services will also be at the event to provide advice and information to help you keep fit, healthy and independent in your home.

Taking place on 23rd and 24th May at Hulme Hall, Port Sunlight, ‘Stay nifty after fifty’ follows the success of Wirral’s first major over 50s event, which was held last year at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton.

Chair of Wirral’s Older People’s Parliament, Sandra Wall explained:

“Last year’s event was really popular and we are delighted to be showcasing what is available to local people, particularly some of our older residents.

“Stay nifty after fifty is totally free and with such a wide range of exhibits from many different organisations, there really will be something to cover most interests. I hope that like last year, lots of people will come along and enjoy what we have to offer.”
