Wirral Community NHS Trust says a huge thank you to hard working volunteers

The trust is saying a big thank you to their many volunteers during National Volunteers Week 1-7 June.

Linda Hamilton, Volunteer and Membership Development Manager at the trust said: "We have so many wonderful volunteers who give their valuable time and skills to enhance patient care.

"We make sure our volunteers feel part of the teams in which they work and feature them in our trust magazine. Many volunteers are nominated in our annual staff awards for the great work that they do.

"Two charities support the work of Wirral Community NHS Trust, the League of Friends at Mill Lane Walk-in Centre, Wallasey, and Wirral HeartBeat. Both are run entirely by volunteers and raise thousands of pounds to support patient care. To all of our volunteers, we are saying thank you!"

One of many outstanding volunteers at Wirral Community NHS Trust is Pat Gill, who works with the Speech and Language Team, helping patients recover from brain injuries. Pat was the winner of this year's Volunteer of the Year Award at the trust's annual awards ceremony. Her supervisor, Rebecca Smith said: "Pat's encouraging, positive nature really helps draw out the best in patients. She is a great asset to our team."
