Do you know someone who is affected by dementia?

There are currently 750,000 people with dementia in the UK.

 

The Alzheimer’s Society works to improve the quality of life for people affected by dementia offering advice and support to those with dementia, their carers and healthcare professionals.


The Wirral Branch of Alzheimer’s Society is based in Wallasey and offer support via the following: 

 

  • Caring at home course – five week courses for carers offering support and information regarding dementia care, legal issues and benefit advice
  • Dementia cafe - Drop-in dementia cafés at five locations across Wirral, offering support and information in a relaxed informal setting
  • Newsletter - with information about dementia issues and local services, as well as branch information.
  • Outings and daytrips
  • Various information and advice packs
  • Dementia care training, at various locations
  • A Walking Group which meets once a month, to go on short walks
  • A website providing comprehensive information and advice regarding all aspects of dementia.
